About
A club for women who move with intention
The Kore Effect began with two friends, one reformer and a belief that Pilates is at its best when it is shared.
We met in a studio in Johannesburg, two women with very different lives and the same quiet obsession: the feeling of a practice that centres you. The classes ended, the conversations didn’t.
What grew from those conversations is The Kore Effect — a women-first Pilates community built around gatherings, honest content and online classes. We host small, beautifully considered events, publish movement that respects your body, and keep a room open for women at every stage of their practice.
Kore means the core — the centre from which everything moves. Our hope is simple: that you leave our rooms feeling more centred than you arrived.
To make movement feel like belonging
We exist to give women a softer, stronger relationship with their bodies — and a community to practise beside. Every event, class and collaboration is measured against one question: does this leave her feeling more herself?
Two women, one shared practice
Kylie Pietropaolo
Co-founder · Pilates teacher
Kylie teaches the kind of Pilates that changes how a woman carries herself — precise, unhurried and quietly demanding. She builds the classes, the cueing and the spaces where our community gathers.
Kayla Lee
Co-founder · Community & content
Kayla shapes the world around the mat: the events, the collaborations and the content that makes a room full of strangers feel like a room full of friends.
What we hold to
Softness over striving
We choose precision and patience over punishment. Progress is quiet here.
Women first
Our rooms are built for women — beginners, mothers, athletes and everyone returning to their body.
Considered in every detail
From the light in the studio to the wording of an invitation, nothing is accidental.
There’s a place for you here
Our gatherings are small by design. Come to the next one and see what the room feels like.
